Alexandra Stychkina was born in December 2003 in Moscow into a family of musicians and filmmakers.

In November 2019, at the age of 15, she became the youngest finalist and prizewinner in the history of the Marguerite Long International Piano Competition in Paris, performing Beethoven’s 1st Piano Concerto with the Orchestre National de France. Earlier, she has been the 1st prize winner in Tbilisi and Astana piano competitions, as well as winning prizes and awards at the Krainev competition in Moscow, International Chopin competition in China and at the Jeune Chopin competition in Switzerland.

Her recent engagements include performances of Shostakovich 2nd Concerto in Konzerthaus Berlin, Triple Concerto by Lera Auerbach with Gidon Kremer, Julia Hagen and Kremerata Baltica.

Already an experienced performer, she has played in the most important venues in Russia, such as the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky conservatory and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall. Internationally, she has appeared at the Konzerthaus Vienna, Barbican Center in London and Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza among others.

Vladimir Spivakov has invited Alexandra on numerous orchestral tours to be his soloist in concerti of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.

In 2016, Alexandra was honoured by Sir Andras Schiff’s invitation to participate in his Wigmore Hall masterclass, in which she performed the complete TwoPart Inventions of Johann Sebastian Bach. In 2018, Alexandra had the privilege to be selected by the Verbier Festival to be one of the students in Residence. There, in addition to instrumental lessons, she received chamber music instruction from Gábor TakácsNagy, András Keller and Frans Helmerson. Her recent chamber music partners have included Alexander Sitkovetsky and Boris Andrianov.

Since the age of 9, Alexandra studied at the Central Music School of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the class of Mira Marchenko.

Since 2019, she studies with Kirill Gerstein at the Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler Berlin.
